AMERICA, S-2, B-2 Variety
1793 1C Chain, AMERICA, S-2, B-2, High R.4 -- Damaged -- NGC
Details. Fine. The Sheldon variety is easily identified by the
widely spaced date and the fully spelled AMERICA on the reverse.
The S-2 is the most elusive Chain cent variety, outside of the
uncollectible NC-1. This coin is well-worn on the obverse and the
chocolate-brown surfaces show some slight porosity. LIBERTY and the
date are legible, but weak in places. The reverse is sharper, but
shows a large gouge in the field between OF and AMERICA. Our EAC
grade Good 4.
