Description
1793 1C Liberty Cap--Corroded--ANACS. Good Details, Net AG3. S-14, Low R.5. Liberty's portrait and the word LIBERTY are discernible on the obverse, most of the reverse periphery is also legible. The diagnostic bisecting die crack on the obverse is also plainly visible. Otherwise, the surfaces are well worn with a rough, dark brown texture. The terminal die crack on the obverse no doubt explains the rarity of this die marriage--few examples were struck before this die became completely inadequate for production.
From the Walter Jones Collection.
