Desirable 1793 Lettered Edge
Large Cent, S-11c, AU50
1793 1C Wreath, Lettered Edge AU50 NGC. S-11c, B-16c, Low
R.3. The attribution is according to the NGC holder, although the
edge is not visible in this older generation slab. The three
subvarieties of Sheldon-11 have a Vine and Bars Edge (S-11a), a
Lettered Edge with two leaves (S-11b), and a Lettered Edge with a
single leaf (S-11c). Both sides have intermingled tan and dark
steel toning with a few minor marks A couple of stray contacts on
the lower hair strands and in the right obverse field should aid in
tracking the provenance of this desirable example. EAC 40.(Registry values: P4)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 223J, PCGS# 1350, GSID# 1223)
