1793 S-11b Wreath Cent, VG8
Lovely Blue-Steel Example
1793 1C Wreath, Lettered Edge, S-11b, B-16b, R.4, VG8 PCGS.
Blue-steel fields contrast with tan design elements, creating a
lovely "circulation cameo" effect. Porosity is faint and light on
the obverse, where the reverse has minor, but even, porosity
throughout. Planchet defects can be found on the upper right and
lower left of the reverse; as struck. The rightward leaning leaves
above the date immediately identify the die marriage as S-11, and
the Lettered Edge narrows it down to S-11b.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 223J, Variety PCGS# 35474, Base PCGS# 1350, Greysheet# 76729)
