1793 S-11 Cent, VG10
Biscuit-Steel and Sage Surfaces
1793 1C Wreath, Lettered Edge, S-11c, B-16c, Low R.3, VG10
PCGS. The fields contain blue-steel coloration with reddish
overtones, where the devices are biscuit-steel with splashes of
orange, sunrise-yellow, and sage on the portrait and reverse
fields. The surfaces are refreshingly devoid of porosity. The
rightward leaning leaves above the date immediately identify the
die marriage as S-11. While we can ascertain that this is a
lettered edge variety, we cannot confirm if it is S-11b or S-11c
due to obscuration by the slab, though neither are rare.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 223J, Variety PCGS# 35477, Base PCGS# 1350, Greysheet# 76730)
