1793 S-4, B-5 Cent, XF Details
1793 Chain 1C Periods -- Environment Damage -- PCGS Genuine. XF
Details. S-4, B-5, R.3. There are three distinctive types for
the nation's first coins, the 1793 Chain cents. The Chain AMERI.
variety was first, followed by the Chain AMERICA subtype, and
concluding with the Periods variety that is offered here. Both
sides of this sharply detailed Chain cent have light roughness with
an ancient obverse scratch that is blended into its surroundings
and virtually invisible. Distinct olive patina at the centers
gradually changes to attractive lighter tan along the borders. This
piece has sharp details and good overall eye appeal. Our EAC grade
