1793 Chain Cent--AMERICA--Fine 12. S-4, High R.3. The CA in AMERICA has been removed to deceive the unwary into believing this is the rarer S-1 AMERI. variety. However, a shadow still lingers of the CA, and the period after AMERI. is much too bold. Also, no effort was made to efface the periods after the date and LIBERTY--both diagnostics of the S-4 variety. Otherwise, light to darker brown color with a couple of rim bumps.
