Rare XF 45 1793 Wreath Cent From the Litrenta Collection.
1793 Wreath Cent--Lettered Edge--XF 45. S-11b, R.5. This is the double leaf variety, evidenced by two leaves on the edge, end to end, following the word DOLLAR. This type is much rarer than the more commonly seen single leaf variety. This outstanding circulated specimen is well struck, although a hair off-center with even, light chocolate toning and only a few minor marks. The surfaces are glossy-smooth and both sides are free from any trace of carbon or corrosion. This piece sits near the top of the Condition Census for the double leaf variety.
