Description
Very Fine 1793 Wreath Cent
1793 1C Wreath Cent--Vine and Bars--VF20 PCGS. S-8, Low R.3. The obverse is exceptionally attractive for a large cent that saw this extensive wear. The fields and recesses display medium brown toning that lightens to tan tinged patina over the highpoints. A pair of planchet flaws (as struck) are seen in the field, but the devices are well defined for the grade with no mentionable post-production distractions. The reverse is somewhat darker overall with some pitting in the planchet in the center and near the upper right border. The wreath and the lettering are, however, boldly detailed. A pleasing specimen overall, and a find for the circulated type collector. From the Eric A. Kreuter Collection.
