Important S-36 Rarity in VG 8
1794 S-36, R.5. Sharpness of Fine 12 Porous, net VG 8. The fields and devices are dark-brown due to porosity, with the highpoints lighter brown where worn. There are no field or rim marks worthy of note on either side. The diagnostics are clear of the single berry left of the bow, and the lowest right leaf pointing to the C, as are all the devices on this well struck coin. A formidable rarity which is seldom seen in any grade, much less often this nice. A worthy acquisition for the advanced collector.Ex: John Schoentag Collection, (McCawley-Grellman, 1/96), lot 146.
