Description
1794 XF 40 PCGS. S-56, R.3. The easily recognizable and always-popular "Office Boy Reverse." There really are a surprising number of mistakes and mispunchings on this reverse, enough to make one wonder if too much of the afternoon's allotment of ale had been consumed the day this die was prepared. The color is a very pleasing light reddish-brown with no signs of corrosion. Close examination reveals a number of small abrasions, but the only ones worthy of mention are a small dig below the 9 in the date, and an angling mark across the first zero in the denominator. Quite an attractive example of this well-known variety.
