1794 S-51 Cent, AU Details
Among the Sharpest Known
1794 1C Head of 1794, S-51, B-42, Low R.5 -- Environmental
Damage -- NGC Details. AU. This early die state piece has a
trace of the obverse crack between the 1 and 7, but no other signs
of die wear. The greenish-ebony surfaces exhibit primarily
microscopic raised corrosion spots that explain the NGC
designation. Despite those imperfections, this important 1794 cent
has excellent detail for the variety, equal to the sharpest pieces
known, and ranking among the top dozen of the variety. Our EAC
grade VF20.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 223P, Variety PCGS# 35615, Base PCGS# 901374, Greysheet# 76775)
