Splendid 1795 Plain Edge Cent, S-76b, AU58
1795 1C Plain Edge AU58 NGC. S-76b, B-4b, R.1. The 5 in the date pierces the bust and ONE CENT on the reverse is unusually high. Lovely medium-brown patina embraces the smooth and minimally marked surfaces. The strike is bold save for the usual softness on the O in OF. A dentil-sized planchet crack is noted at the lower right border of the obverse. An appealing early cent. MRB XF45.
