Description
Gorgeous 1795 Plain Edge S-76b in MS 60
1795 Plain Edge S-76b, R.1. Sharpness of Mint State 60 Brown, net Mint State 60. The surfaces are light tan and glossy with hints of original color near the devices. Weakly struck on the upper obverse and lower reverse, with all the lettering visible, but weak in those areas. The central devices are sharply struck. Identifiable by a tiny tick mark behind Liberty's eye, and by the weak UN of UNITED. A stunning and beautiful coin that will excite even the most advanced collector.Ex: New England Rare Coin Auctions, (7/76), lot 443; Gary Sturtridge; unknown intermediary; Vintage Auctions, (2/89), lot 148; Julian Leidman; Superior Galleries, (2/91), lot 675; Julian Leidman; unknown intermediary; McCawley-Grellman Auction, (1/97), lot 208.
