Description
1795 Liberty Cap Cent Struck on a Clipped Planchet
1795 1C Plain Edge VF 20 Clipped Planchet. S-76b, R.1. This pleasing light olive-brown specimen was struck from an incomplete planchet, with a small clip between 6 and 7 o'clock (relative to the obverse). The surfaces are quite smooth for the grade, with minute granularity visible only under high magnification. A neat early mint error that will please the early copper collector.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 223T, PCGS# 1380, GSID# 732)
