Description
1796 1C Reverse of 1796 VF 30 Corroded. S-103. R.4. One of the most famous misspelled coins in U.S. history, the legend reads LIHERTY. This variety has the numerator merged with the bar of the fraction. Reasonably good detail considering the coin was struck on a porous planchet. Deep brown to ebony color, mottled by the poorly stored planchet. Uncertified.
