1796 S-89 Cent, XF40
Low Condition Census
1796 1C Liberty Cap, S-89, B-10, R.3, XF40 PCGS. Although
the 1796 S-89 cent is relatively plentiful with an R.3 rating, the
condition census is comparatively low. The obverse of this
important example combines tan and olive while the reverse exhibits
chocolate-brown and steel toning. Both sides are pleasing with
smooth surfaces that exhibit minor circulation marks consistent
with the grade. This example does not appear in the Noyes/Lusk
early copper database, but easily ranks in the top 20 for the
