Description
Lustrous S-88 with Small Clip
1796 Liberty Cap VF 30 Porous. S-88, R.4. The S-88 cents, sometimes known as the "Club Pole" type, show a thicker support for Liberty's cap. This specimen has the added interest of a small clip above the LI in LIBERTY. The porosity is minor, the strike sharp, and the fields are lustrous with even brown color. Altogether, this is one of the nicer surviving examples.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 223V, PCGS# 1392, GSID# 744)
