Description

Lightly Worn 1796 Liberty Cap Large Cent, S-88

1796 1C Liberty Cap XF 40 Corroded, Reverse Cut. S-88, R.4. A remarkably attractive example, the corrosion is largely confined to the obverse field about the date and behind Liberty's head. The chocolate-brown coloration deepens somewhat over the reverse. Save for a noticeable abrasion through the central reverse, the surfaces are essentially free of contact marks. Amply defined within the confines of this grade level, this is a suitable coin for circulated type purposes.
