Description
Condition Census 1796 S-91 Liberty Cap Cent
1796 1C Liberty Cap XF 40. S-91, R.3. The remarkably smooth surfaces of this attractive early cent display mixes of olive and brown that give this piece a look of unmistakable originality. There are few abrasions worthy of mention, although a small mark on Liberty's neck and a shallow dig in the reverse field to the right of the T in CENT are noted for accuracy. Pleasing examples of early large cents with problem-free surfaces are seldom encountered, and specialists and type collectors alike are certain to view this piece with considerable interest. A specimen that reaches into the lower echelon of the Condition Census for the variety, and that will no doubt inspire lively bidding activity. From the Liberty, Texas Collection
