Ex Richard Gross-Pierre Fricke 2008-Walter J. Husak Collection.

The numismatic bug bit Pierre Fricke in 1969 when his grandmother gave him a box of old coins. His interest soon branched out in many areas of numismatics, and he was collecting large cents by die variety as early as 1973. Combining numismatics and genealogy, Fricke began to focus on Confederate paper money, obsolete notes, and related antebellum items. He has also collected Fugio cents and formed a specialized collection of 1796 large cent varieties. Today, Fricke is an active dealer in Confederate and obsolete currency. He has also made literary contributions in those fields. He is a past president of the Society of Paper Money Collectors and a member of several related organizations. He markets his inventory at coin conventions and through his website, buyvintagemoney.com.
