Delightful Nichols Find S-123, Ex: French-Clark-Reynolds
1797 Reverse of '97, Stems, S-122, R.4. Sharpness of MS 60 Brown, net AU 50. One of the many Nichols find coins, with lustrous tan fields and devices. Apparently cleaned and retoned, but done well so as not to detract. The die line below Liberty's eye has been lightly tooled, perhaps in an attempt to remove it, but it is still visible. A beautiful, well struck and pleasing example of this scarce variety, with an illustrious pedigree that further enhances it's desirability.Ex: Henry C. Miller; Thomas L.
