Description
1797 Reverse of '97, Stems S-135, R.3. Sharpness of VF 30, net VF 25. A choice coin for the grade with light chocolate-brown toning and choice surfaces. Probably retoned long ago, but not to its detriment. One short, unimportant scrape from the dentil toward Liberty's mouth serves to identify. Clean rims and surfaces and probably from the expansive Nichols Hoard.
Ex: McCawley-Grellman Auction, (1/97), lot 222.
