1797 NC-1 Cent, VF Details
Fifth Finest of Eight Known

1797 1C Rev of 1795, Plain Edge, NC-1, B-1, R.7 -- Environmental Damage -- PCGS Genuine. VF Details. Del Bland records this piece as "Sharpness of VF25 but porous" and assigns a net grade of Good 5. Bill Noyes suggests VF20 sharpness, net Good 3. We agree with Bland's assessment, placing this piece in the fifth position among eight known examples. This piece has excellent sharpness and exhibits moderate corrosion over the dark steel-brown surfaces. The corrosion is evenly distributed across both sides and allows retention of good eye appeal. Our EAC grade Good 5.
