Description
1798 XF 40 Porous. E Over Reverse E. S-179, R.3. A scarcer variety, the E in AMERICA was first punched in backward, then correctly overpunched. The obverse is well defined, but the reverse shows less definition on the leaves in the wreath. Medium-dark brown color overall, the finely porous obverse shows a patch of denser concentration of porosity along the rim to the left LIBERTY.
