1801 1C 1/000 VF20 PCGS. S-223, B-17, R.1. 1801 must have been a training year at the First Philadelphia Mint, given the number of reverse dies made with blundered fractions. This lavender-brown representative shows considerable hair definition. Close examination locates distributed obverse pinpoint marks and an unimportant rim ding at 5 o'clock on the reverse.
