1803 1C Small Date, Small Fraction AU55 PCGS. S-255, B-14, R.1. The obverse die, with its defective base on the Y of LIBERTY, is diagnostic. The present example is well-defined, with warm luster. The fields are mostly golden-brown with chocolate overtones, while the high points of the devices exhibit slightly deeper color. Housed in a green label holder.
