Description

1805 S-269, B-3 Cent, MS62 Brown
Late Die State

1805 1C MS62 Brown NGC. S-269, B-3, R.1. Apparently a later die state, with faded die lines from the drapery to the border, weak clash marks left and right of Liberty, and a faint die crack through the bases of 180. However, there is no apparent evidence of the die bulge that reportedly develops prior to the die crack. This lustrous olive-brown example has splashes of steel patina, with weakness at the forehead and on the leaves. Our EAC grade XF45.(Registry values: N2998)
