Description
Rare 1807/6 Small Overdate, Small Fraction Sheldon-272
1807/6 Small 7, S-272, R.5. Sharpness of Good 4, net Fair 2. One of the most popular and expensive of the Guide Book varieties, and always in feverish demand. This particular coin has smooth surfaces, but has a rather unfortunate crescent shaped dig on Liberty's chin up to her nose and into the field below. There is also a dent along the lower obverse rim, which includes part of 18 of the date, and the corresponding portion of the reverse is worn away. Better than it sounds, and the diagnostics of the variety are bold.Ex: Dan Demeo; Early American Coppers (4/94), lot 296.
