Description
Low Mintage 1809 Classic Head Large Cent
1809 1C XF 40 NGC. S-280, the only known dies, R.2. Variegated shades of chocolate-brown patina overlay the problem-free surfaces. Even wear on both sides hardly hinders the bold strike. A challenging series to collect above the median circulated grades, the 1809's desirability is further enhanced by the limited original mintage of 222,867 pieces. From the Richard Doyle Collection.
