Description
Uncirculated 1810 S-284 Cent
1810 1C MS60 Brown, Cleaned Uncertified. S-284, R.3. Late die states of this variety display soft overall definition from deteriorating dies. This coin is not fully struck, but the definition is bold, if not sharp, over the central devices. The right peripheries are a little blunt from an uneven impression--a not uncommon feature for Cents of this date. The surfaces are somewhat glossy in texture with pale, orange-tan undertones, medium brown patina, and slightly darker toning over the upper obverse. Despite the cleaning and some minor handling marks, this is an uncommonly problem-free representative of this conditionally rare type.Ex: Bowers & Merena (6/88); via Leidman; Robert G. Schick.
From the Robert Schick Collection.
