Near-Mint 1813 Classic Cent
1813 AU 58 NGC. S-292, R.2. Well struck on the hair curls but somewhat weak elsewhere. The deep brown and steel-gray patina shows a bit of faint reddish color within and surrounding the devices--quite a rare occurrence on Classic cents and one that adds considerable visual interest. Several small keg marks are noted on the obverse with the most noticeable ones on the face of Liberty. A very shallow and roughly circular planchet void is located in the field behind the lowest curls of Liberty's hair.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 224X, PCGS# 1570, GSID# 861)
