Description

1814 Cent, MS64 Brown
S-295, Plain 4

1814 1C Plain 4, S-295, B-2, R.1, MS64 Brown NGC. Die state XIV. A rim break above TA is visible. The plethora of high-quality survivors makes this issue ideal for date and type collectors. While the 1814 large cent is among the most common of large cents, examples are scarce in Mint State and are immensely rare at Gem and beyond. This example displays rich mahogany and lighter oak-brown luster with a pleasing sheen. There are no major abrasions that would diminish the austere appeal of this example. The current example is only our second S-295 at Gem Uncirculated or in higher grades in 10 years.
