Dr. French's Condition Census 1816 N-3 Cent
1816 1C AU Details NCS. AU50 EAC. N-3, Late Die State, R.4. This is the sixth finest known example of the variety. Just three or four Mint State examples of this variety have been identified. This is an extremely important opportunity for the advanced collector. Lovely medium brown surfaces are blended with lighter chestnut color. Some roughness is visible on Liberty's cheek as struck. A couple of prominent depressions on the cheek will identify this example in the future. This is a later die state with the obverse rim crumbling the same as the previous lot and heavy flowlines through the reverse legend. NCS Improperly Cleaned.Ex: Dr. George French (B.
