Description
Lustrous 1816 N-9 Cent
1816 1C MS63 Brown NGC. AU50 EAC. N-9, Late Die State, R.3. Light flowlines are visible inside the border on the obverse and the reverse. The obverse border is very weakly defined with the reverse border much sharper. This is a wonderful example of the N-9 variety with olive-brown color and splashes of steel-brown toning. Original mint color is also present on the obverse. Frosty cartwheel luster adds to the overall appeal. A very light scratch in the left obverse field above the bust will serve to identify this specimen in the future.Ex: J.J. Teaparty (4/91); March Wells (Superior, 2/00), lot 1739.(#1591) (Registry values: N991)
