Description
1817 N-8, R.1. Sharpness of AU 55, net AU 55. From the Norweb Collection. Glorious brown to tan color, lustrous, and boldly struck. There is a very minor low spot in the field between the fourth and fifth stars, and hidden pinscratches in the left obverse field, with others around the date. Middle die state with the appearance of the flat mouse just starting, it looks like maybe the mouse has come and gone and left something atop Liberty. A really beautiful coin in every way and certain to please.
