Description

Lovely 1818 N-10 Cent, MS64 Red

1818 1C MS64 Red PCGS. N-10, R.1. The famous Randall Hoard was the source of this cent, as it was for most surviving Mint State large cents dated from 1816 to 1820. The hoard is believed to have contained about 15,000 Mint State large cents from that narrow five year period. The 1818 N-10 and 1820 N-13 are the two most plentiful varieties from that hoard. This piece has full deep orange luster with splashes of brown toning and a few minor spots that ensures its originality. The strike is bold with excellent design definition on each side. A peripheral die crack joins the date and most of the stars, and provides instant recognition of the variety. MRB 64.(Registry values: N2998)
