Lustrous Mint State 1819 Randall Hoard Cent
1819 1C Small Date MS65 Red and Brown NGC. MS63 EAC. N-8, Late Die State, R.1. Although this is a Randall Hoard variety, and hundreds of Mint State examples are known, few can match this coin for overall quality. The obverse has extensive orange mint luster, beginning to transform into light brown color. The reverse is mostly brown and steel, yet with considerable underlying mint color. A lovely example of this popular type coin. NGC has only certified five examples of this date as MS65 Red and Brown with none finer. This is the only Gem quality N-8 cent they have certified. From a late die state with border dentils virtually nonexistent, peripheral design elements pulled to the border, and some central reverse weakness.Ex: Casey Sisneros (3/95).(#1607)(Registry values: P1)
