    The Newcomb-Starr 1820/19 N-2 Cent

1820/19 1C MS64 Brown NGC. MS60 EAC. N-2, Intermediate Die State, R.2. A later die state cent with extensive flowlines on both sides, blurring the remnants of the previous 9 below the final 0. This is a lovely cent, and it is not a Randall Hoard coin, thus quite rare in full Mint State preservation. Only about 10 such coins survive from this die pair. This example has frosty luster with sections of lighter brown and dark olive color on the obverse. The reverse is fully light brown in color. The border dentils are mostly complete although quite weak in areas. A few small surface marks are visible on the reverse, near ES of STATES. An attractive high-quality example of the variety, this cent will surely please the specialist or connoisseur. The reverse is plated in Newcomb.
