Description
Gem 1820 Large Cent
1820 MS 65 Red and Brown PCGS. A solid gem specimen, almost certainly of Randall Hoard origin. There is much subdued original red found on the surfaces, evenly mixed with the brown in a pattern that only enhances the luster. Both sides are well struck, and the obverse is fully encircled by a die crack. One or two minute toning spots are as close as this gem comes to anything that might be called a distraction. Only 4 coins have been certified finer (6/96).Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2256, PCGS# 1616, GSID# 899)
