1821 1C MS 60 Brown Burnished. Despite mishandling, this is a pleasing specimen with even olive-brown patina. While the strike is not nearly complete, all major features on both the obverse and the reverse are sharp. There are no distracting contact marks and the surfaces are remarkably smooth for the grade. A key date even in well worn condition, Mint State representations of this elusive issue are few and very far between.
