Description
1822 1C AU58 NGC. N-4, R.2. A bold inner circle, which is significantly sharper than typically seen on this variety, is nearly complete on the obverse, and the bottom of the L in LIBERTY is recut. The obverse also has the diagnostic plain center dot to the left of the ear. The position of the leaves helps identify the reverse, and the E's in ONE and CENT are noticeably large and lean to the left. This interesting piece has a mix of tan and medium brown patina on both sides. A small spot is noted on Liberty's neck, but all of the abrasions are minor.
