Tied for Second Finest Known

1822 1C MS65 Brown NGC. N-10, R.2. Our EAC Grade MS62. Ex: Mervis Collection. The obverse and most of the reverse border details are complete, although they are lacking over STATES on this middle die state specimen. The strike is bold with satin surfaces and excellent eye appeal. Both sides are frosty and lustrous chocolate-brown and golden-tan with hints of pale blue on the reverse. Noyes grades this piece MS60 and tied for second finest known, and bland concurs with a grade of MS60+.
