Description

1822 N-4 Cent, MS64+ Brown
Early Die State

1822 1C N-4, R.2, MS64+ Brown PCGS. CAC. Noyes Die State A/A. An early die state with a nearly complete inner circle inside the obverse border. The 14 varieties of 1822 cents offer specialists a challenge as many are similar. This impressive Choice Mint State cent has emerald and gold toning on the obverse with sea-green toning over the light brown reverse. Both sides have exceptional cartwheel luster. A small toning spot on Liberty's neck should identify this piece for future collectors. Our EAC grade MS62. Population for all 1822 varieties: 32 in 64 Brown (4 in 64+ Brown), 5 finer. Population for 1822 N-4 cents: 2 in 64 Brown (1 in 64+ Brown), 3 finer (11/21).
