Description
1823 MS 65 Brown NGC Restrike. A restrike of this rarely seen date in the Coronet series. According to the "Red Book" these pieces were unofficially made at the same as the 1804 restrikes, using a discarded 1823 obverse die and an 1813 reverse die. Both sides are heavily cracked, as usual, with significant accumulations of die rust as well. Deep brown patina covers both sides.
