Description
1823 1C Restrike MS65 Brown NGC. N-3, R.2. A middle die state with a bisecting obverse crack but no reverse cracks. Most examples of this circa-1860s out-of-mint issue are from a later state. Coined from rusted and mismatched cent dies sold as scrap by the Mint; the reverse earlier struck S-293. A beautiful lime-green and rose-gold Gem.
