1823 1C Restrike MS66 Brown PCGS. N-3, R.2. The late die state with a bold vertical crack between the TE in STATES. Privately struck during the 19th century from muled Mint dies sold as scrap steel; the reverse die previously coined 1813 S-293. Powder-blue undertones grace pristine surfaces. Sharply struck and prooflike with hints of Red at the obverse margin. Our EAC grade MS60.
