Description

1823 1C Restrike, N-3, R.2, AU58 PCGS. The late die state with bisecting cracks above ONE and across the portrait. The medium brown surfaces display narrow strike-throughs near ICA and below the wreath stem. Privately struck circa-1860 from broken and rusted dies sold by the Mint as scrap metal. The obverse die of 1823 N-2 is paired with the reverse die of 1813 S-293. Our EAC grade AU50.
