Description
Important 1825 N-1 Cent
1825 1C XF45 NGC. VF30 EAC. N-1, Intermediate Die State, High R.4. The obverse has a die crack through the base of the date, but no evidence of rim breaks that developed later. This is a highly unusual example of the N-1 variety with pleasing medium brown surfaces highlighted by some lighter reddish-tan coloration. Nearly all known examples of this variety are dark with rough surfaces. This example is not specifically identified in Del Bland's census notes, but should be included in a tie for 12th place.Ex: Richard V. Punchard (12/90).(#1642) (Registry values: N491)
