Description
Desirable 1827 N-1 Cent
1827 1C MS63 Brown NGC. AU55 EAC. N-1, Early Die State, R.1. This is a common variety of the year, although the business strike census is rather low. Perhaps eight or nine Mint State examples are known, along with a handful of proofs. After these, a number of AU55 coins have been identified, including this example. This is an early die state with no evidence of any obverse rim breaks. Design elements are all sharply defined with the strike well-centered on the planchet. The obverse border is full and sharp around the entire circumference, and the reverse border is also complete although narrow. This coin is an excellent target for the date or type collector.Ex: 1985 T.N.A. Sale (Hanks and Associates, 4/85), lot 11.(#1651) (Registry values: N991)
